How do I learn best? I learn best when someone is teaching me one on one, and hands-on. I also suffer from anxiety, which makes me a very quiet person and I need the freedom to ask questions without judgment or intimidation because there is still so much more I want to learn. I always feel intimidated by everyone. I’m trying to work on that every day and stop caring what everyone around me thinks.
As an adult learner, do you dis/agree with adult learning principles? Adults have the freedom to learn on their own. Adults have an existing base of knowledge and life experience. They seek out continuous learning based on personal interests, wants, and needs. Adults understand why they’re learning, so their motivation levels are naturally high. Yes I do agree with the principles

Hi Kat, I understand the feeling of not being able to ask questions… it can be nerve wracking to put up your hand in class and speak in front of everyone, let alone asking a question – I sometimes think, “did the teacher already go over this and I am the only one who doesn’t get it?” I was extremely self conscious as a teen, I’m not sure how I got out of it, or if I grew out of it. Whatever the case may be, I ask questions now because I know I might not be the only one wondering about something. I’m sorry to hear you feel intimidated… that’s not a great feeling to be carrying with you. Please know that I love hearing others ask questions… a lot of the time someone asks something that I never even thought of!! I hope you’re doing well, I wish we were all together in class again 🙂
